  • Top o' the mornin'! Are ye looking for something interesting to say? You might want to pay a visit to the Blarney Stone. This famous hunk of rock, set high into the battlements of Blarney Castle outside of Cork Ireland is rumored to bestow the "gift of gab" on all whose lips touch it. The unique feature has never perhaps been more eloquently described than by the 19th century poet, Francis Sylvester Mahony who penned:

    "Tis there's the stone that whoever kisses
    He never misses to grow eloquent;
    'Tis he may clamber to a lady's chamber,
    Or become a member of Parliament.
    A noble spouter he'll sure turn out, or
    An out and outer to be let alone;
    Don't try to hinder him, or to bewilder him,
    For he is a pilgrim from the Blarney stone."

    Unfortunately for those of us who frequently find ourselves at a loss for words, we can't always just pack up and head for the Emerald Isle. Which is precisely why we crafted Blarney Blend tea. Conceived after a visit to Blarney Castle, our Master Taster decided to develop a blend that was sure to get people talking. Crafted using a stunning array of black teas from China, Kenya and India, Blarney Blend features the rich notes of astringency and malt Irish blends are traditionally known for. To this we added a dash of green Irish lucky shamrocks to really get the chins a waggin'. Brew a pot today and get a conversation started!

  • Brewing Hot

    Bring filtered or freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 slightly heaping teaspoon of loose tea, 1 tea bag or 1 Q3 portion pack for each 7-9oz/200-260ml of fluid volume in the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 3-7 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the tea).

    Brewing Cold

    (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 6 slightly heaping teaspoons of loose tea, 6 tea bags or 6 Q3 portion packs into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 1 1/4 cups/315ml over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the tea or removing the bags. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to increase the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water. (Note: Some luxury quality teas may turn cloudy when poured over ice. This is a sign of luxury quality and nothing to worry about.)
