Cascadia which some believe should include Northern California and Alaska was conceived by Thomas Jefferson. He envisioned an independent Western nation after Lewis and Clark set off to the Pacific Northwest in 1803. The current Cascadia movement is based on the notion that people living in that part of the world share similar customs beliefs and linguistic dialects that distinguish them from their Eastern compatriots. Place 1tsp of loose Rooibos into an infuser. Lower infuser into your cup\/teapot. Pour boiling water over Rooibos and let steep 3-7mins according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the brew). Bring water to a boil and pour boiling water over the tea. Steep for 5 mins. Add hot tea to a 12oz \/ 375ml glass filled with ice, straining the tea (use larger pitcher if preparing multiple servings).
