In his book The Outermost House American naturalist and author Henry Beston has this to say about Cape Cod: East of America there stands in the open Atlantic the last fragment of an ancient and vanished land. Worn by the breakers and the rains and disintegrated by the wind it still stands bold. This line in particular the word bold aptly describes the craggy coast of the Cape a place that takes on almost mythological stature in the American psyche the myth created by bold images of seafarers beach houses battling fierce winds the massive spray of cresting humpback whales and perhaps most famously JFK jogging down the beach.
In keeping with this bold Eastern theme we're pleased to present the bold natural flavor of Cape Cod Cranberry Rooibos. Cranberries have a long history on the Cape. The sweet tangy berries were first discovered thousands of years ago by the original native inhabitants and then introduced to Europeans as they began to arrive. Over time cranberries grew to become an essential component of the European diet especially among whalers who ate them to ward off scurvy during long voyages. By the year 1683 the first notable development in what would become the modern industry took place with the invention of Cranberry juice.
We'd like to think the development of this tea is equally as notable! The blend mixes South African Rooibos Cranberries Hibiscus petals and natural flavors to create a cup that is long smooth and fills the mouth with textures of sweet acidity rounded by tart cranberry character and herbal notes. A fantastic tea worthy of its namesake - onward to Cape Cod!
