  • Just when you thought we couldn't come up with another fabulous way to enjoy the sultry tones of Earl Grey comes Hi^Antiox Cream Earl Grey Green. Think of it as the perfect way to introduce your customers to the myriad benefits of high antioxidant green teas. (Basically, no one can shy away from the sweet citrus aroma of bergamot wafting from a freshly brewed Earl Grey of any variety.)

To blend what we consider to be one of the healthiest, and delicious, Earl Grey teas on the market, our Master Blender began with the best base tea he could find - an exceptional, high altitude Kenyan Dryer Mouth from Koisabei Estate, grown at roughly 2500 feet above sea level where the air is clean and the sun bright. (Research conducted at the University of Guelph in Ontario Canada confirms that teas grown at high altitudes have higher antioxidant counts than those grown closer to sea level.) To this he added our Cream Earl Grey Green Pekoe Gunpowder, itself a high altitude charmer grown between 2500 and 3000 feet. Next for good measure he added some calendula which has been shown by researchers to demonstrate anti-tumor activity.

  • Brewing Hot

When preparing by the cup, this tea can be used repeatedly - about 3 times. The secret is to use water that is about 180'F or 90'C. Scoop 2-4 teaspoons of tea into the teapot, pour in boiling water that has been freshly drawn (previously boiled water has lost most of its oxygen and therefore tends to be flat tasting), steep for 2-4 minutes (to taste), stir (virtually all the leaves will sink), pour into your cup but do not add milk or sugar since green tea is enjoyed straight-up'.

    Brewing Cold

(to make 1 liter/quart): Place 6 teaspoons of tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. [A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water.]
