  • A visit to the French village of Giverny was the inspiration behind this chocolaty tisane. And why not Giverny was the inspiration for some of the world's best-known paintings. The famous French impressionist Claude Monet called the village home for nearly 45 years and painted some of his best-known works there. The pretty little spot is built along two streets running up a hillside lined with low houses covered in Wisteria and Virginia creeping vines - it is an exceptionally beautiful place. But even more beautiful is Monet's garden tucked in behind his old chateau. To say it is lush is an understatement - broad leafy trees flowers of every color and tropical plants literally fill every corner. The garden is built around a pond crisscrossed by a number of Japanese-style footbridges and filled with Koi. To laze away a warm afternoon there is like spending the day in heaven itself.It is that feeling that we have tried to capture in this wonderful tea. Based on a South African Rooibos the blend offers mellow herbal notes offset by tones of rich chocolate reminiscent of a traditional French chocolat chaud (Monet's favorite).

    Cup Characteristics: Chocolate and pineapple waft gently through premium rooibos. A light nutty finish

    Infusion: Reddish orange to full color (depends on brewing time and quantity used)

  • Brewing Hot

    Bring cold water to a boil. Place 1tsp of loose Rooibos into an infuser. Lower infuser into your cup/teapot. Pour boiling water over Rooibos and let steep 3-7mins according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the brew). Add milk, sugar, or honey to taste.


    Brewing Cold

    Place 1 generous teaspoon of loose tea into a cup/ teapot for each serving required. Bring water to a boil and pour boiling water over the tea. Steep for 5 mins. Add hot tea to a 12oz / 375ml glass filled with ice, straining the tea (use larger pitcher if preparing multiple servings). Sweeten by adding sugar to taste.
